Who We Are
A group of Huntingdonshire residents, health campaigners, Trade Union and health workers concerned over the future of healthcare in our region with a special focus on Hinchingbrooke Hospital.
Act Local, Think Nationally
We’ve understood for a long while that the local situation is part of the national picture and is being affected by central policy making by the Government Quango (arms length body) NHS England – otherwise known as the National Commissioning Board for England. Since 2012, when Andrew Lansley’s Health & Social Care Bill cemented the commercial market as our NHS model, we have witnessed cuts to services, restrictions to patient care and in 2021 we are about to see more shrinking of the NHS patient menu as the Government push for breaking up the NHS into 42 so-called “Integrated Care Systems” based on the USA Accountable Care Organisation.
We stand with clinical staff and academic commentators calling for a return to a publicly managed, provided and delivered NHS. The commercial market is destroying it with huge unnecessary business costs.
Our Campaign Friends
HOH will continue to campaign for our local community NHS services and are developing links with other campaign groups in similar situations and with experience, knowledge of the nationwide situation.
